Daily Journal Continued May 31,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson Day of Pentecost,Pentecost Sunday,read the Acts of the Apostles 50 days after the crucifixion,10 days after Christ ascension to God the Father up in Heaven,The Holy Spirit of God was given to 120 disciples including the chosen Apostles to whom Jesus told in the book of Acts of the Apostles to"commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem,but wait for the promise of the Father"Acts 1-4. Any ministry until today is incomplete without the anointing of this same Holy Spirit of God. I am very happy to write this message today because it is in my field of understand- ing and study with experience. I received this blessing early in my Christian life and it has taken on new deeper meaning during my vision to paint Christian art. I taught Sunday school this morning on this subject and as always,the Holy Spirit enlightened my mind to speak with power and assurance in great joy and peace. (I feel the anointing of God upon me with great power and glory) 7 weeks after the beginning of passover when Jesus Christ was crucified and raised by God The Father to eternal life,Pentecost fell on the 120 that were seeking it all in one accord according to the instruction of Jesus just prior to His being taken up. Acts 2-1,"And when the day of pentecost was fully come,they were all with one accord in one place.2-And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,and it filled all the house where they were sitting.3-And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire,and it sat upon each of them.4-And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,and begin to speak with other tongues,as the Spirit gave them utterance." At this point all the disciples knew they were servants proudly and gladly they were committed to preaching the everlasting gospel of Christ the Lord and the saving power of God Almighty. Peter the Apostle then stood up and preached to the people under the anointing.Acts2-14, "Ye men of Judea,and all ye that dwell in Jerusalem,be this known unto you,and harken to my words.16-But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;"(Old Testament prophecy),17-"And it shall come to pass in the last days,saith God,I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh:and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams:18-And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit;and they shall proph- esy;19-And I will show wonders in Heaven above,and signs in the earth beneath;blood and fire,and vapour of smoke:20-The Sun shall be turned into darkness,and the moon into blood,before that great and notable day of the Lord come:21-And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" Dear Lord,Thank you for this assurance of the truth that this blessing that swells up within me is from thee. May I never dis- count thy Holy Spirit. Enlighten the Church dear Lord to this wonderful blessing and make me a strong witness of Thy Spirit. This experience is wonderful,let everyone believe and receive. From those days forward the devil and the church has for the most part denied this power and substituted scripture to weaken the real place God intended for man to be with our bodies serving as temples of the Holy Spirit on earth. Most of the protestant church today,where it should rightly be donot even believe in it.
